LSDA Week 1 Friday Acting Jillian O’Dowd

Acting with Jillian O’Dowd

Warm up Exercises

Every day we start off with a physical / breathing / yoga type warm up to stretch all the major muscles in the body and to help increase the depth of our breathing, relaxation, state of mind while getting us in the mood to start the hard work.

Breathing Circle

With eyes closed the group forms a close circle with everybody concentrating on the area between their nose and their lip. Taking deep, controlled and relaxed breaths.

Humming Circle

Still in the circle humming at a high and low pitch, in unison exercising the range of our voices, slowly stepping out increasing the size of the circle while still humming.

mmmmm Rrrrrrrrrr Circle

In the same positions we continued to hummm but we have changed it to mmmmmm then introducing the letter ‘R’ to open up the mouth nice and wide, experimenting with different pitches and volumes.

Clapping Circle

As a group slowly and organically stopping th ‘mmmRrrrrrr’ sound then bring hands up to the face less then a foot apart-the idea is to get everybody in the group to clap at the same time. Any body can start it off.

21s

As a group we are still in a close circle: the aim of this game is to see if the group can count to 21 one without any one saying the same number twice. For example one person starts of with the number ‘1′, then another person says number ‘2′ then another person says number ‘3′ and so on. If two people repeat the same number then the group must start again from ‘0′.

Text Analysis

When the term ‘Text Analysis’ is used there are many types of analysis that can be undertaken on texts. Even with the aid of algorithmic techniques. An algorithm may be defined as a step-by-step procedure capable of being run on a computer—i.e., an unambiguous and completely stated description of what the computer is to do. It can be expressed by a computer program but need not be; often the specifics of how an algorithm is implemented in a particular programming language would obscure the essentials.

If you want to find out about what other sorts of text-analysis techniques there are the list below will help you:

Pre-Season Friendly

Holmer Green FC vs. Flackwell Heath

A pre-season friendly game against Flackwell Heath who recently have played against Wycombe Wanderers: losing 0 - 3 and drawing against Marlow FC 3 - 3. Flackwell Heath will be looking to win this game to help boost their moral before the beginning of the season. Holmer Green are looking to improve on their previous pre-season results to start their season off with a win.

Although I won’t be playing due to a injury I sustained the other week I will be supporting Holmer Green and wishing them well.
